Exciting news!

So I have some exciting news(at least I'm excited about it!)

Before I graduated and I was still tossing around the idea of what exactly I should be doing after school, I thought pretty hard about going straight to grad school.  I was really thinking about something pretty local-- more that likely Duquesne.  Once I got my job offer in April, I decided to put my grad school dreams on hold to get a good grip on the working world.

I started my job in May and have been seriously loving every second of it so far.  But the idea of grad school has been stuck in my head.  I decided to start looking around at some online programs that I think would better fit into my busy schedule.  I found a school with a Master of Health Care Administration.

I applied.

I got in!! I'm super excited.  I start on August 27th.

Best part of all? My employer is going to pay half and I don't need a GMAT! Hurrah!!

Roaddd Trippppp...

Headed to Erie for the long weekend!! Have a great few days!

Barbie Jeep Uh-Oh

Well, this morning has not been one of my finer moments…

It’s not really a secret that I LOVE to drive with my Barbie Jeep top down.
This green Jeep is the one I want to buy... Mama and Papa A Don't approve... Wah wahh

I’m obsessed.  I love the sun on my face and the wind buzzing through the car and my music blasting.  It’s like a mini vacation for me.

Last night I put the top down to have my mini vacation.  I knew after work I should have put the top up right away, but hey! There was a chance that I would be driving somewhere again later in the night and it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun to drive with the top up!
So I kept it down..

Flash Forward to 7:03 am this morning.  I was having a wonderful morning.  Got ready in peace.  My hair looked good, I got some nicer clothes on for work.  I felt good.

Until I opened the front door, and realized it had been raining all night and my Barbie Jeep top had been down ALL NIGHT.

Everything is soaked.  Not just a little water here and there. The seats acted like a sponge and just sucked up all the water.  The floor had a good ¼ inch of water in it which kind of drained out when I removed the floor plugs.  I had a huge packing blanket in the back—100% soaked (and so damn heavy!).

I drove to work by covering my seats with trash bags and beach towels… the Barbie Jeep is now drying in the parking lot… super water logged.

Priorities people...

Last night, I spent my night customizing this blog a little. I added some new sections so hopefully you all like it as much as I do. Please do let me know if you find anything difficult to read because of spacing or colors.

I've added some buttons on the side to follow my Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram-- all of which I'm very active on. I also added a contact section that allows you to write me a little message and let me know what I'm doing right or wrong... So I hope you use that.

So onto last night, I rushed home from work to go to the pool and teach a private lesson. I love teaching private lessons but I struggle when I get a grumpy kid or an overly tired kid. I feel bad because sometimes their parents send them to camp all day, where they do nothing but run around all day and then send them to me to swim laps for an hour. They really don't want anything to do with me at that point. Anyway, I finished up a lesson and she passed the level (yay!).

I finally got a hot second to myself this summer so I decided to decorate the blog and trim my bangs.

Priorities people... Priorities.  Now I'm watching my all time favorite TV show lineup:

And in other random news, the Pittsburgh Penguins got a little cuter today:

Since Arron Asham had to leave the Penguins last year, I guess Sutter will have to be my new favorite player... Lord knows I only pick my players based off of 2 things: 1. Looks  and 2. Bad ass-ness

Weight Loss Wednesday

Three posts in one day? Yes. Don’t get used to it because It probably won’t happen that often…

Why three posts in one day?

Well I thought it would be a great idea to post the “My week in Instagrams” on Monday’s… Its Wednesday.  I know.  I’m playing a little bit of catch up with the blog because I’m just super excited to start getting into a few weekly themed posts to keep me active on this blog.

So the theme of my last Wednesday blog would be “Weight loss Wednesday”.  As you may or may not know, my sister’s wedding is quickly approaching (November 3rd to be exact).  So as you can imagine I’ve been trying to eat a little healthier in order to lose some pounds.  If you know me through Sparkpeople (I’ll get to that in a second), you know how much success I’ve had losing weight from March to May of this year.  Graduation, the cruise and starting a job have thrown me for a loop and I haven’t been eating as great as I should be.

My thought was to start one day a week where I could share how my weight loss is going and any issues or struggles I’m having dealing with the process.  So I’ve created Weight loss Wednesday’s.  And I hope you enjoy reading about it!

So how am I tracking my weight loss?

When I had tremendous success before, I was tracking everything I ate on Sparkpeople.com.  It’s one seriously amazing website and if you haven’t used it before, I highly suggest you do.

My Sparkname is: Antoszewskia

Anyway, while I tracked my weight loss on Sparkpeople, I attribute 90% of my weight loss to how I was eating.  I was following the Atkins Diet.  Basically I eat 20 grams or less of carbs a day.  I attribute the other 10% of my weight loss to sparkpeople.  I was super strict and followed it to the letter.  I measured every single table spoon or gram of food that went into my mouth.  By being so strict with my eating I shed a decent amount of weight in just 2 months.

So my Wednesday blogs are going to devoted to my weight loss journey over the next few months.  Each week I’ll recap my calorie intake, including fat, protein, carb and fiber intake as well as any exercise I’ve done.  I’ll summarize my weight loss for the week and month.
Today’s post will be considered day 1 of weight loss Wednesday so I don’t have any calorie intakes for the week.

So the weekly blog post will look a little something like this:

Start Date: 7/25/2012
Today’s Date: 7/25/12
Weight lost: 0 lbs

Week Successes: Starting weight loss wednesday!

Week Struggles: Sugar Cravings!

Lessons Learned: Stay strict with my eating.

Goals for Next Week: Increase my water consumption.

My week in Instagrams!

I’m going to start a new weekly post called “My week in Instagram’s”.  I love instagram.  I think every single one of my coworkers (at least at the pool) probably think I’m slightly insane by the number of pictures I take and post on Instagram each week.  This weekly post will be to focus on the highlights of my week through Instagram.  Some weeks will have all of my instagram photos, while other weeks (Like this week) I’ve just posted wayyy too many pictures on Instagram to share them all.

If you enjoy the “My week in Instagrams” I highly suggest you follow me through the highly addictive app!

My user name is : Antoszewskia

Lets give this a try...

I’ve been pretty active (or I guess pretty stalkerish) in the blogging world for the last few years reading blog after blog from various bloggers all over the internet.  I’ve attempted once or twice to really get into blogging and make my blog something spectacular to read with few great successes.  I’ve decided to attempt the blogging world one more time and try to make something enjoyable.

Over the next few days, weeks, and months I’ll be building my blog into hopefully something my readers (what readers?) think is something good and enjoyable to read.  I encourage you to ask questions, post comments or email me topics you’d like to read about and in the meantime I’ll continue to write about Life by Lexis…
